Innovation & pilots
Circular ambitions create value when they work in practice. Through the Innovation & pilots programme, Circular Plastics Foundation helps companies translate insights into concrete circular applications and future-proof business models. We connect environmental benefits with economic value and assess technical feasibility on production lines.
Objectives
Through this programme, we support companies in developing and implementing circular solutions. We focus on five objectives:

- Support companies with design and implementation.
Current activities
We assess companies’ starting points, ambitions and opportunities. From this foundation, we develop solutions that fit their day-to-day operations.
Company-specific circular roadmaps
Together, we identify the steps needed to achieve circular ambitions. We translate these into a roadmap with priorities and a clear direction for design, testing and implementation
Value chain analysis
We examine a company’s role within the value chain and identify opportunities, dependencies and threats. These insights help companies make informed choices and identify suitable partners for collaboration.
New value chains and business models
We explore how alternative approaches to production, use and reuse can contribute to a future-proof business model. We assess both environmental and economic value.
Pilots and technical testing
Through pilots, we investigate whether the proposed solutions work under real-world conditions. We use the results to refine solutions and determine the next steps towards implementation.
Strategic solution design
We support companies in designing circular products, processes and targeted interventions. We examine which changes will contribute to their objectives.

Consortia meeting on reusable packaging
The project leads of reusable packaging projects Re2Pack, ReUsify, Interpool and STOPP invite you to join this European meeting on implementing reusable packaging across the value chain. The morning brings together researchers and project leads from across several reuse projects. From 13.30, we open the floor to industry players from across the value chain — so research questions stay grounded in real-world, practical needs.
