Lobbying & public sector collaboration
The transition to circular plastics requires policies that enable change. Through the Lobbying & public sector collaboration programme, Circular Plastics Foundation brings together insights and practical experience from the sector to highlight barriers and influence policy. Through active lobbying of national and European policymakers, we advocate for regulations that support circular solutions and accelerate the transition.
Objectives
Through this programme, we connect business practice with policy and public sector collaboration. We focus on four objectives:
- Accelerate systemic change within the sector.
- Consolidate and interpret insights and experiences from the network.
- Strengthen the sector’s influence on policy.
- Embed circularity in policy, regulations and market conditions.
Current activities
We gather feedback from the sector, investigate underlying causes and bring evidence-based insights to the attention of relevant stakeholders
Industry and market research
We research developments within the sector and the market. This helps us identify opportunities, barriers and the conditions needed for circular applications.
Identifying systemic barriers
We bring together companies’ experiences and analyse barriers that affect multiple organisations or value chains. This highlights where changes to policy or market conditions are needed.
Informing industry associations and policy forums
We share research findings and practical experience with industry associations and at policy forums. This contributes to evidence-based positions and proposals that address the challenges companies face.
Lobbying national and European policymakers
We put shared challenges on the policy agenda and present proposals for improvement. Our efforts focus on regulations that enable the development, implementation and scaling up of circular solutions.

Consortia meeting on reusable packaging
The project leads of reusable packaging projects Re2Pack, ReUsify, Interpool and STOPP invite you to join this European meeting on implementing reusable packaging across the value chain. The morning brings together researchers and project leads from across several reuse projects. From 13.30, we open the floor to industry players from across the value chain — so research questions stay grounded in real-world, practical needs.
